Saudi-listed Edarat secured contract to build AI data centre

Edarat Communication and Information Technology Company (EDARAT) has secured an award valued at SAR 197.8 million, including VAT, from Al Moammar Information Systems Company (MIS) to provide design, supervision, testing and commissioning services for a major 200MW AI data center project in Saudi Arabia.

The award letter was received by Edarat on September 8, 2026, marking another major contract for the Saudi technology and data center services provider as the Kingdom accelerates the development of large-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Under the award, Edarat will be responsible for the design and supervision of construction works, as well as the testing and commissioning of the AI data center facilities, which have an aggregate planned capacity of 200MW.

The scope will cover the technical design and engineering services required for the development, together with supervision of construction activities and the testing and commissioning of the completed data center infrastructure to ensure operational readiness.

The award forms part of the wider AI data center expansion project previously awarded to MIS by HUMAIN, Saudi Arabia’s AI-focused company. In August 2026, HUMAIN expanded MIS’s scope to include the design and construction of an additional 200MW of AI-dedicated data center capacity, increasing the overall planned capacity of the development from 50MW to 250MW. The expanded MIS scope was reported at more than SAR 8.77 billion based on its disclosed financial metrics.

Edarat’s latest award therefore represents a specialized engineering and project services package within the additional 200MW expansion being delivered by MIS, rather than the value of the overall HUMAIN-MIS project.

The development is expected to be delivered in phases and will provide large-scale computing infrastructure to support Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing requirements for artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and advanced digital technologies.

The project highlights the growing opportunities for Saudi engineering, technology and digital infrastructure companies as the Kingdom scales its data center capacity to support its ambitions to become a leading global hub for artificial intelligence and advanced computing.

With the latest award, Edarat further strengthens its position in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding data center market, providing specialized design, supervision, testing and commissioning capabilities for large-scale digital infrastructure projects.
