Revolut has introduced an AI assistant called AIR to help users manage their finances through simple in-app conversations. The tool is rolling out first to customers in the UK and offers a more advanced experience than traditional chatbots.
AIR is designed to function as a deeply integrated financial assistant within the Revolut ecosystem, enabling users to manage multiple aspects of their financial lives through a single conversational interface. The assistant allows customers to access spending insights, track investments, manage subscriptions, and control cards without navigating through multiple app sections.
The launch reflects a broader industry trend towards “money intelligence”, where financial platforms leverage AI to deliver contextual, real-time insights and streamline user experience. By embedding AI at the core of its interface, Revolut aims to reduce friction in financial decision-making and increase user engagement across its services.
Beyond core banking functions, AIR extends into lifestyle use cases, including travel planning support, budgeting for trips, and facilitating purchases such as in-app eSIMs. This positions the assistant as a multi-functional tool that integrates financial management with day-to-day consumer activities.
The company has also emphasised data privacy in the rollout. AIR operates under a zero data retention policy with third-party AI partners, ensuring that user information is not stored externally or used to train external models. The assistant accesses only the data already visible to customers within the app, such as transactions, cards, and investment details.
