Pan-African digital banking platform Zazu, which is built exclusively for entrepreneurs and SMEs, has partnered digital payments leader Visa to offer the first 100 per cent online business account for entrepreneurs and SMEs in Morocco.
Founded by Germain Bahri and Rinse Jacobs, both former Solarisbank executives with deep fintech experience in Europe, Zazu is creating a Mercury-style experience for African entrepreneurs.
The startup, which raised US$1 million in pre-seed funding last December, has now partnered Visa to launch a 100 per cent online business account in Morocco. The partnership strengthens Zazu’s offering and will support the progressive rollout of Visa Business cards, which will enrich the experience offered to entrepreneurs in the coming weeks.
Over 300 businesses are already on board — including Jobzyn, Auto24, Yakeey, and Votre Chauffeur.ma — and accounts can be opened in just 10 minutes. In Morocco, opening a business account usually takes several weeks.
“Too many entrepreneurs waste time chasing their advisor, navigating overly complex interfaces, or disputing surprise fees. Zazu simplifies their day-to-day banking,” Bahri said.
Zazu is built on a strategic partnership with Chari, a key player in Moroccan fintech, providing access to technological infrastructure, a payment license, and market expertise.
“Zazu is part of a new era in fintech, and we are proud to support them in this mission,” said Ismael Belkhayat, founder of Chari.
